Night Studies

Across twenty-two paintings, five artists explore the city after dark, tracing the moments that exist between observation and memory.

Created across Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo, the works focus on streets, windows, interiors, and quiet public spaces illuminated by artificial light. Rather than documenting specific locations, the artists use the night as a condition for slowing down and paying attention to details that often pass unnoticed during the day.

The paintings reveal themselves gradually. A distant figure emerges from shadow, a lit window suggests a story, and an empty street becomes unexpectedly familiar. Together, the works offer a slower and more reflective way of looking.
